Welcome Codebreakers!

On the surface, this is just a regular old class blog where your parents can get news about what's happening in class, see photos of our awesome projects, and find links to excellent resources to help you and them navigate growing up gifted.

But BENEATH the surface you and I know there is more than meets the eye to most pieces of information. So sharpen your deductive reasoning, steady your patience, and elevate your creativity in order to crack the codes embedded in the blog. Posts that contain a secret code will have the tag "CODE". Bring the cracked code to class in order to collect Code Points.

Good luck!

About Me

My photo
Ben Koch, M.Ed.
I am so excited to begin my 10th year of service as a teacher in Frisco ISD. I taught 4th grade for 7 of those years in both bilingual and monolingual classrooms at Christie and Taylor Elementary and always had a special passion for those gifted and high potential kids who demand a little something different. I earned a Master’s degree in Gifted Education from Southern Methodist University and for the last 2 years have served as the Gifted and Talented Facilitator and Bilingual Enrichment Specialist at Isbell and Christie Elementary schools. This year I will be splitting my service between Borchardt and Christie Elementary. I have three children of my own who attend Frisco schools and they keep me busy attending soccer tournaments across the country, band concerts and dance recitals! My special passions outside of teaching include running, reading, writing and travelling. Special travel destinations so far include Holland, the UK, China, Tibet, India, Mexico, Canada (does that count?) and a year living in Argentina (OK, my wife is from Argentina, so that’s cheating a little). I look forward to an amazing year!
